What Is a Snug Piercing?

A snug, also called an anti-helix piercing, passes horizontally through the inner ridge of cartilage just inside the outer rim. The ridge is curved and fairly thick, so the jewelry has to follow its shape. A curved barbell does exactly that, with one end showing at each side of the ridge. Snugs can take a while to settle, so a well-fitted bar matters more here than on most ear piercings.
