How Dermal Tops Work

A microdermal piercing has a small anchor that sits under the skin with a threaded opening at the surface. The part you see is the dermal top, which screws into that anchor. That means you can change the look of a dermal just by swapping tops, without touching the anchor. Every item here is a top only; the anchor itself is placed by your piercer.

Titanium Dermal Tops in Every Style

Our dermal tops are 14G titanium, which is lightweight and nickel-free, a good match for a piercing that sits in the skin long-term. Choose a CZ gem in clear or colored stones, an opal in white, pink, blue, or purple, or shapes like a star or a heart. Gold, rose gold, and black tops use a PVD coating over titanium.

Fitting Dermal Piercing Jewelry to Your Anchor

Most dermal anchors use 14G internally threaded tops, which is what we carry. Changing a top is easier with dermal pliers or a holding tool, and it's best done once the anchor is fully healed.
