Curved Barbells for Eyebrow and Ear Piercings

One Bar, Many Piercings

A curved barbell's gentle bend lets it follow the shape of a piercing through a ridge or fold, so both ends sit close to the skin. That's why it's the go-to for eyebrow, rook, snug, and anti-tragus piercings, and a common starter for the daith. If you have more than one of these piercings, the same bar size often works for several.

Titanium Curved Barbells

Titanium curved barbells are nickel-free and lightweight. Our internally threaded titanium bars come with CZ gem balls or gem ball ends, and titanium spike barbells come in silver, gold, rose gold, black, and 3mm spike versions. Surgical steel options include ball ends, spike ends, a bat design, and black PVD barbells with a CZ gem or spikes.

Curved Barbell Sizes

Most of our curved barbells are 16G, the common gauge for eyebrow and ear cartilage piercings, and one black PVD bar is 14G. Lengths are 5/16" (8mm) and 3/8" (10mm); the shorter bar sits closer, and the longer one leaves room for thicker tissue or swelling. Not sure of your size? Curved Barbells FAQ

How is a curved barbell measured?

Curved barbell length is measured in a straight line from one end of the bar to the other, not along the curve and not including the balls. Our bars come in 5/16" (8mm) and 3/8" (10mm). Not sure of your size? See our body jewelry gauge size chart, or ask your piercer.

Can I wear a curved barbell in my tongue or nipple?

Tongue and nipple piercings are straight, so they need straight barbells in 14G and longer lengths. A curved bar is made for piercings through a ridge or fold, like the eyebrow, rook, and snug. For straight bars, see tongue rings and nipple bars.

What does internally threaded mean on a curved barbell?

On an internally threaded bar, the screw thread is on the removable end and the hole is inside the bar, so the bar that passes through your piercing is smooth. Our titanium curved barbells are internally threaded. Check each listing for the thread type on steel styles.
