Size guide

Body jewelry is sized by thickness (gauge) and by length or inner diameter.

Gauge conversion

Gauge Thickness
20G 0.8mm
18G 1.0mm
16G 1.2mm
14G 1.6mm

How to measure

  • Gauge (thickness)

The thickness of the bar or wire. A smaller gauge number means thicker jewelry.

  • Hoop inner diameter

Measured straight across the inside of the ring, from inner edge to inner edge.

  • Straight post length

The wearable length of the post, measured between the ends. Balls and gems are not included.

Match your existing jewelry’s measurements. If you’re unsure, ask your piercer to confirm your size.

  • Length/Size: 1/4" (6mm)

An 18 gauge surgical steel nose bone stud with a choice of four tops.

  • Tops: ball, dome, flat disk or spike.
  • Straight 1/4" (6mm) post with a small ball end that holds it in.

Surgical steel contains a small amount of nickel, so this piece is best worn in a fully healed piercing. If nickel bothers your skin, choose titanium instead.
